Anchois Coffee is a Las Vegas-based specialty coffee roasting company that is family owned and operated. We source our beans with a very high standard for quality and freshness. We strive to find beans with unique flavor profiles to make your coffee drinking experience fun and exciting. We roast in small batches and are always working to find the "sweet spot" in our beans that portrays the delicate flavors of the region and variety of plant they come from. Each bean has a story (country of origin, variety of plant, processing method, growing techniques, altitude, climate, etc.) and it is our passion to try to tell that story to our customers through the flavors they taste in their cup and the aromas they smell in their grounds.
We get asked a lot about the name of the company "Anchois." Well, anchois is French for anchovy. It is pronounced onshwah. It just so happens that this is the nickname of our founder's wife. She is quite petite. One day, when they were first dating, she was swimming alone in a large public pool and our owner thought she looked like an anchovy swimming in the pool since she was so small. The nickname stuck and… Voila! Since she was the inspiration for our ventures into the "art" of coffee in the first place, it seemed only right that the company be called "Anchois."
Why do we do what we do? We do it because we love sharing some of the best coffees this planet has to offer with anyone willing to try them and listen to their story. By sharing these coffees, we are greatly and positively impacting the excellent and sustainable work of these farming families and communities in some of the most remote and poverty-stricken places in this world. In turn, we are improving the quality of lives of "us" drinking these incredible coffees, "them" producing them, and the Earth absorbing them.
FYI: All of our bags are compostable so we can enjoy these beautiful coffees without leaving a trail of trash behind us in the process.
